250 words Essay on Climate Change.
According to the official data of the United States government, the years 2013-2021 all rank among the ten-warmest years on record. Extreme weather conditions like wildfires, hurricanes and flash floods are getting common and all these are just the beginning of what we call as Climate Change.
Climate change is any long term shift in the average weather pattern, either globally or regionally. It is now used to describe shifts in temperature and other atmospheric conditions mainly due to human activities.
Carbon emissions have been identified as the primary cause of Climate change in recent decades. Carbon dioxide is an essential gas that traps the Sun’s heat to keep our planet warm and liveable but increased percentage of Carbon dioxide in atmosphere results in trapping more heat making our planet Warmer.
As the average surface and ocean temperatures rise, air currents become more irregular, resulting in catastrophic cyclones and hurricanes. Increase in temperature is resulting in melting of glaciers and rising sea levels. High temperatures have increased the devastation caused by wildfires.
Climate change is fueled not only by rising temperatures and carbon emissions, but also by large-scale deforestation, urbanisation, and rapid population expansion. Corruption and Ignorance to sustainable development also adds to the problem.
Climate change is the biggest threat to the Earth and all the organisms living on it. We humans have given rise to it and We alone can put an end to it. People and Nations all across the world need to come and act together to undo or at the very least slow the pace of climate change and safeguard the planet that we call Home.
